My dear Oreo,
whose sides round as earth and center smooth as core makes perfection.
whose assorted flavors from mint to fudge make for hard selection.
whose taste makes my toes curl.
whose sweet cookie goodness I indulge in so much that if I were cut,
I would bleed chocolate creme swirl.
whose flavor is borderline orgasmic in late hungry nights.
whose ingenious combination gives me true flight.
And the way double cream gives me rush
Every time I’d bit into it, my cheeks would blush
if my skin were not as deep as the chocolate coat.
Don’t think me crazy, you’ve all been in the same boat.
So I wrote this cheezy rhyme for my favorite snack
That liberates me, if only for four bites, from the weight of the world on my back.

When I first saw this poem, I understood the emotion fully. There is nothing more freeing than opening an Oreo and tasting its creamy center. Whether its regular, mint, coffee, strawberry, or chocolate – it is all delicious. It makes things, events, times, better. You revert back to the moment you had your first one, your very first Oreogasm. It took you by surprise. You were not prepared for the barely sweet chocolate cookie, that hung on so tightly to that creme, that you had to put a lil something behind that twist. But then it was done, the Oreogasm had begun and you slowly introduced your tongue to the creme, licking ever so slowly so the feeling and taste would last. You then allowed yourself the privilege of enjoying the chocolate cookies one at a time, dunking them perhaps in a glass of icy, cold milk to make them soften up just enough to eliminate the crunch. Because if this moment were interrupted by sound, it would not be the same.
Yes, I can speak of many an Oreogasm, can you? I bet if you tried real hard, you could remember the first time you O-R-E-Ohhhhh’d 🙂
Share won’t you, as I enjoy my Limited Edition Strawberry Milkshake Oreogasm…..yes, it is good to be me.
