Mourning My Stuff

First off, let me say get your minds out the gutter, you dirty birds you…hehehe

Two weeks ago, Captain Random showed up at the Lair of Confusion and decided she would do some redecorating; and by redecorating I mean throwing away my stuff.  Who exactly does she think she is anyway? You can’t just waltz in to my lair and donate my unused stuff to charity throw my stuff out.  What nerve!!!

Needless to say this was a necessary cathartic cleansing an extremely hard process.  I LOVE my stuff. I am a junky for stuff. I need it, like air to breathe, like coffee to wake up. 🙂  But seriously, I was one step away from being on the tv show Hoarders and I knew it. I saw myself in those people. I knew how it began and I knew it ended in tv hell.  I don’t want that for me, let alone my children. (Yes, even super heroes have kids, its how our stories live on forever). Any-who, I was thoroughly distraught with the loss of my stuff.

So now I sit here, with less of my stuff, and I can honestly say, I do not miss it as much as I did last week.  I have more stuff to be viciously parted from go thru and my goal is to be done by Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas, whichever comes last the end of next week.  And the idea is to not replace it with more stuff.

So I keep watching Hoarders as a reminder of what could be but should never be.

Note that I am STILL mad at Captain Random, but hey she wouldn’t be a Super Bestie if she didn’t love me.
