Sigh.
Life with a teenager.
I.
Am.
Over.
It.
My oldest is turning 17 and irking the living shit out of me. His mere existence sometimes makes me want to hysterectomize myself. (No its not a real word, but you get the feeling behind it don’t you? Yea I thought so. Continue reading lol.)
And then, I wish he would cuddle with me.
WTFudgeycakes?!??!?!?!!?
I am no where near being preggers or pre-menopausal so what’s with all these dang blasted emotions?
Ok so maybe its cuz he is leaving for college in a little over a year. And while I am saddened at his departure, I am elated that his attitude will be residing somewhere else!
And yea, I know Batman and Superman will miss him, but hey, 2 new Hot Wheels and he will be but a memory. (Yes, I do believe in bribing my kids for the betterment of my sanity).
So I basically said all of that to ask you……how long after he leaves can I change his room around giving it to The Clones so that their room can be my office? I mean this is important stuff we are discussing here.
I mean he’s not gonna be here, why does he need a room?
Why you lookin at me like that? Too soon?
Aight, bet, I will check back in a bit, you know when your teenager is making you rethink that night. You the one, when you wore THAT dress with THOSE shoes and you all had THAT dinner and he wore THAT cologne while THE song was playing. Yea, I know, you hate me but its ok, I will have me an office right about this time next year. 🙂
I’m not there yet….got about 10 years to go, BUT! I would not wait to change his room to your office. I believe that he will need to know that you and your hubby have bought the house and the clones’ time is ticking away too! You and Hubby will eat everyday, and he has to figure out how he is going to eat everyday too! Not saying you wont help him out, or allow him to come back on breaks but this will urge him to make good decisions and plans for his life 🙂
Sell his bed and get a futon, in there. That way when he does come home to visit, he is welcome, but not made So Comfortable that he doesn’t want to leave;)
LMBO! Quit trying to kick my baby out! Btw, where will he “live” during holiday & seasonal breaks? That office better have a futon! 😉
Well he will come home and visit at his other mommas house! always a room here… Sid can have her visits tooo… we have plenty of space and if she needs the office girl she should have that office…
My son left for college 8 years ago, and his room still has remnants of him. But that’s a story for another century.
